Wish me luck!

I have a Doctor's appointment tomorrow morning. This will be my first
follow-up visit since I was diagnosed as a T2 diabetic on December 15th
(hba1c was 9). The Doc told me to cut out all fast food, follow my low carb
diet, try to lose some weight, then to come back in a month.

I reduced my carbs some more and also have limited calories to around 1500
for the past month. Eaten no processed or prepackaged foods. Back to the
basics; meat and veggies. I've been checking my blood glucose morning,
night, and before and 2 hrs after each meal. It's been in the normal range
for the entire month Hopefully I can get away with no meds for the diabetes,
controlling it with just diet.

According to my HealthOMeter scales I've lost an incredible 26 pounds since
my diagnosis about 33 days ago. Can't wait to see what the Doctor's scales
say, and what SHE says! I know this sounds unbelievable -- especially since
this time included the Christmas holidays -- but I've had the motivation.
I'm determined that I'm not going to let diabetes complications affect my
life, as I've seen happen to my sister.

I'm a hotel GM, and one of my frequent guests asked me today if I was sick.
When I said "no,why?," he said that I had lost an awful lot of weight since
he saw me a few weeks ago. :)

If I have more bloodwork done tomorrow it may be a couple of days before the
results come back; I'll post my results. My cholesterol and triglycerides
are also going under the microscope -- er, centrifuge.
