Crystal Light

I was making up a jug of it last night and noticed that the
nutritional info on the back said for a 250 mg serving (1 cup)
the carbohydrate count was 1 gram per serving.

Just a heads up for anyone who is drinking it regularly and on
Induction.
I never noticed this myself until last night.

A 6 cup jug of it, if you drink it in a day, will add up to 6 carbs.
Almost half the carbohydrates allowed daily on Induction.

That's a good reminder for those who aren't aware of it.
Doesn't one of the little tubs make 2 US quarts (8 cups) though?

Take care,
Carmen

*I* wasn't even aware of it and I have been drinking it off and on for
a couple of years now. Last night was the first time I ever looked
at the nutritional info once I had mixed it up. I had assumed it was
carb-free.

Little tubs? The instructions call for 6 cups of water (per pouch) and
the front of the box says it makes 3 litres which I am assuming is for
*both* packets if you make them both up at the same time and that
would be 12 cups of water which *is* 3 litres.

Little tubs?

This is what I mean - I've seen little tube type packets, but this is
the way it's been packaged primarily in the States:

The tubs are plastic, and they have a foil cover. Odd, same product
different packaging. :-)

Take care,
Carmen

Depends on what flavor you have. I drink the sugar-free Rasberry Ice and it
has 0 carbs and 5 calories per serving. It does contain aspertame.

The directions say to mix one tub to 2 quarts (8 cups) of water.

I will be sure to check them the next time I am at the grocery store.

Is that just for the Raspberry Ice or do all flavours sold in the
States call for 8 cups of water. My Canadian instructions said 6 cups
for the Lemon-Lime flavour.

Bev-Ann January 6th, 2005 12:20 PM

I was wondering the same thing. All the Canadian flavours call for 6 cups
(1.5 litres) of water per pouch. I always found that to be too strong and
used 8 cups (2 litres), though.
I stopped using Crystal Light completely during my weight-loss phase of LC
and only recently tried the Raspberry Iced Tea again. After 10 months of
using only sucralose-sweetened drinks, I found it to be syrupy-tasting,
even using 8 cups water, not like I remembered it at all. :-)

I've been using 12 cups of water per envelope just so I could get
extra water in and have my water slightly flavoured with *something*
after getting sick of lemon juice because plain water was getting *too
boring* for me and I was not drinking what I should have been
drinking.

I have also noticed that if I do not water it down a lot I can *feel*
the artificial sweeteners in my body.
