Happy Thanksgiving to you, too. My sister and I will send our kids to their
in-laws and we will eat out. It's something we started several years ago
and it has worked out well. I will stop at my ex DIL's house in the evening
for a piece of her delicious Texas sheetcake. Her's is fantastic and she
always makes sure there is a piece left for me.

My youngest sister just had her first baby (a boy) last night at
11:59 p.m. My mom drove to NC from NY to be with her, so Dad and
I are left to prepare and serve dinner. He's always done the
turkey, so it shouldn't really be a big deal, but all I've ever
had to worry about is preparing a few of the sides and desserts.
Now I have to be the hostess with the mostest.

I've started a list of everything that has to be done before
family arrives, and I'm finally realizing why Thanksgiving is
*not* one of my mother's favorite holidays. Wow--it's a lot of
work!!

Hope everyone else has a lovely holiday. Drive careful!

Amy (gotta go wash the good china...)

Good luck with the preparations, Amy. Now you know why my sister and I
don't miss the big Thanksgiving dinnerg Just take it slow and don't worry
if everything isn't perfect - I can guarantee you no one will notice.

Thanks for the vote of confidence. I think only the grandmas will
notice--but they'll save their comments for later.

Have a nice holiday away from the holiday!
