Is this diet popular? How do I get started with it? Number of points per day, etc.

I believe that it is quite popular. And for me, so far, it has been
very effective.

Well, there is a lot of information on the web and folks here can
provide info (there is a weekly posting of info and good links (google
can find it) and www.weigh****chers.com is their official site. You
can find meetings times by zipcode for US meetings. Or they have
online and at-home programs.

Points per day depend solely on current weight (not sex nor height nor
age) and drop as you enter lower weight ranges.

Once you reach your goal, then you attempt to balance points with
activity and eating patterns and goal weight is based on height and
some extent age (but again, not sex)

WW Points Question.

A good place to start is www.weigh****chers.com.
Try to think of this as a lifestyle change instead of a diet. It does take
work and you do have a large amount of support. The first step is to get
involved with a local meeting or on-line.

Good Luck and Congratulations on your decision....

Charlie

Our newbie welcome notice, which contains a lot of useful information
about Weigh****chers, is posted frequently. Julie posted it today, in
fact. If you can't find it by scrolling through the headers, try
searching for it in Google groups. http://weigh****chers.com is also
an excellent source of information. Welcome and good luck.
