As far as I know, all those carb blockers were proven to actually not
work.

I've seen "sugar alcohols" in a lot of products lately. Do you have any info
on them?

They're more suitable for diabetics who have to keep BG under control than
for weight loss, since most have around 3 cals/g (sugar has 4 cals/g).

In my experience, eating too much of them can cause severe intestinal
discomfort and pain due to excess gas. Some people report laxative effects.
Whether they cause these effects or not depends on the individual and the
type of sugar alcohol in the product, but I find the same amount of the same
thing can have very different effect, perhaps depending on what else you've
eaten (or not eaten).
