HELP..stopped losing!

Hi, just completed week six. I'm 5'9" and my starting weight was 192.
Have been dieting for six weeks and I'm stuck at between 177-179lbs for
the last two and one half weeks. Wondering what the problem is. Have
back, hip and foot pain, so walking is the exercise I try to do. Walk
daily, but not very fast. Too painful. Walk about 30-40 minutes.

Not drinking the water like I should, so need to get back to that. I'm
trying to eat healthy. Keeping a food diary, watching calories. I
average about 1100-1300 calories daily. My goal weight is abt 150, at
least at this point. Am I eating too many calories or too few? Any
suggestions?

Other question regards breadmaking. Have finally figured out the bread
machine I bought and I'm making whole wheat, rye and oat breads. Only
have one or two slices daily. First, could this be the problem? And
secondly, how do you get the maximum amt of fiber in a breadmaker loaf?
On reading some of the store bought loaves, they sometimes have 4-5
grams, while my recipes book only lists abt 2 grams as the most.

Any ideas.
Sarah

Thanks
Sarah

Make sure you have good supportive shoes, and if the pain doesn't go away,
go to the doctor...

I wouldn't drop your calories any further. When I was losing, I would eat
low calorie during the week and have a refeed day of about 1800 calories or
so. I still lost the weight.

Remember, it's not carbs that make you not lose weight, it's the overall
calories. As long as you eat less calories than your body burns, you'll
lose weight. 2 1/2 weeks is not much of a stall, as long as you aren't
gaining, don't worry about it. If you are doing all the right things, the
weight will start to drop off again.

Sarah it sounds like the standard "plateau". Your body wants to rest or
catch up. hang in with patience. Weight loss will resume!

You've close to the healthy weight range (at 5'9" and 177, your BMI is
26), so it's not surprising that your weight loss is going to be
slowing down. Don't panic. Two weeks at the same weight doesn't
count as a real "plateau".

Can you swim or do water aerobics? A half-hour walk at a slow pace
isn't going to do much to help you lose weight (though of course all
exercise is good exercise :) )

Good luck!
