Well, if that ever works out, he will then have a shred of
credibility.

I saw some of their YouTube videos. Some people who lose weight by low
carbing try to cash in on it. ($)

If it is the same guy, he is trying to sell a diet bar.

So? He still lost a lot of weight and keeps it off. Everyone has to make a
living, do you think it's THAT easy to find the willpower to lose that much
weight for the shaky future prospect of making some money?

I attended a TOPS meeting for several months, some years ago. I wanted some
social support and I was curious how "weigh-ins" would effect me.

While I applaud anyone that works at weight control, I couldn't help being
put off by several aspects of the program.

One of the aspects, which goes along with this thread, is that they had a
group of about 8 people in their "KOPS" program. The KOPS people were
members *at goal* and working to maintain. Each week the KOPS group would
go to the front to declare their success with recited words together. My
problem with them was that with perhaps one exception these "victors" were
obese.

Cubit
320/155/160
male 5' 8"

low carbing since 12/2003
YMMV

Why do mention a convention of losers? I'm talking about fit people.

I Atkins and got down to 195 from 250 in less than a year. But the animal
fat intake was not healthy.

The other problem that has been common is that low carb diets, once your
goal is reached is hard to maintain, and you statistically launch back up
more often than not.

Also at 195 lbs. I looked like skin and bone. Folks thought I was sick.
Even though my BMI numbers said I was normal. My build vs. my BMI numbers
do NOT match.

Lean meat protein, veggies, as little sat. fat as possible, easy on the
eggs and cheeses for cholesterol and high blood pressure, portion control
and exercise.

That's the way ya do you do it!

Imho,

Stop scaring people about the "saturated fat" bogeyman. It doesn't exist.
Carbs are the evil thing that cause heart disease.
