Product Review: True Lemon (True Lime)
 

I recently got a sample pack of each TrueLemon and TrueLime. I liked it
a lot but I didn't want to post here until I found it locally (shipping
is rather expensive, IMHO).

What is it? Basically lemon or lime crystals. It says "add to any
10-16 oz beverage" but I find that one pack in a one liter bottle is
fine. The ingredients in the lime a Citric acid, Lactose, Lime
Juice, Lime Oil, Maltodextrin and Absorbic Acid. As you can see, it has
not color or sweetener. I have been using it just to give my water a
little flavor. Yes, I could squeeze lemon or lime juice right into the
water but the little packets are much easier to store in my desk drawer
at work!

I got a at my local Harris Teeter (next to the Splenda, of all places),
40 packets for $4.

Thanks for the link. I've been drinking a lot of Lipton's citrus flavored
diet green tea but would probably drink more water at work if I had
something like this to flavor it.

I love this stuff and find I can drink a lot more water using it, or even
plain lemon/lime juice. Since it's messy to carry around lemons and limes
and there's really no room to store them in the fridge at work, these little
packets do the trick. I have not seen them in any stores yet but I've
ordered them online from http://www.minimus.biz/ . I love Minimus! It's
good for people watching portion sizes/calories because you can buy
individual servings of various things. They sell the True Lemon or True
Lime for 9 cents a packet, so for 40 that's $3.60, even cheaper than your
store. If you place a $20 or $25 order (I forget which) shipping is free.

I bring my lunch to work and just placed another order with Minimus
(including more True Lemon/Lime). I ordered a bunch of various condiments,
which are perfect for a lunchbox. No mess, no worry about putting dips or
sauces into yet another little plastic container that you have to carry,
wash & carry back home. Portion size is controlled. You can buy individual
tea bags of all kinds - great for trying out new flavors.

In the U.S., all commercial maltodextrine, a carbohydrate often used
in commercial baking and confectionary processes, is produced from
cornstarch.

Thanks for the website. I've been hunting some place I could obtain single
serving sizes of peanut butter and they have them. I quit buying peanut
butter by the jar since it's one of those foods I can't quit eating once I
start :(

Oh please! The packet weighs .7 grams. The malodextrin is the fifth
ingredient. Do you really think that we should all worry about .1 (if
even) gram of malodextrin diluted in a liter of water?
