Day 67 and still 29 pounds gone

Day 67 and still 29 pounds gone
265/236/200
3-8-07

Got on my scale today and the indicator still hadn't gone below 236.
At four this afternoon, my indicator on my office scale went to 235
but it's not official because it's not after I wake up in the morning.
I hope it will be lower tomorrow, but if not, then it will be soon.

I went up my little hill last night, puffing and panting, but much
less of that now that I'm 29 pounds lighter. And some other exercises
when I got home (some pushups, etc.). Had about 1000 calories
yesterday and that is my goal.

So far today I had two boiled eggs from 7-11 (I have never tried them
there before - sure beats a lot of other things I have had from that
place.) About the only other calories were skim milk in my coffee at
home, and at my little Toastmasters speaking club meeting today, and
also a little creamer in my coffee at work. (I've had about 4 or 5
cups of coffee today, 2 of them without any additives.)

We are going to put on a local speaking group for those with minor
brain injuries, to help people regain some of the communication skills
they may have lost. Along with some brain injuries is hesitancy in
speech, some word finding problems, sometimes increased emotionality
and very much increased self-consciousness. It is terrible for a brain
injury to take someone's voice away from him or her, but practicing
speaking and communicating may be the best way to give them back those
skills. I like that saying, "Speak your mind loudly even if your voice
quavers in fear!" Kind of reminds me of the saying about Coach Vince
Lombardi who asked his football players to sing solo at some of his
dinners and he said that he particularly admired those with poor
voices who sang loudly. "If you don't have a good voice then it really
takes an effort to sing out," he said.

I hope all of us will reach our goals and will continue to communicate
our support for others who are on the same journey as we are, or who
are thinking about joining it! The water is fine and we're reaching a
healthier place!

Yours truly,

Caleb
