Rough Night

I dreamed last night that I was eating everything in sight.
I had ice cream, cake, pizza, potato chips, just everything and anything. I
kept repeating to myself "Why am I on a diet? Why am I trying to lose
weight? What's the point!" I know I had to gain at least 10 pounds.

When I woke up I was so mad at myself for eating all of that food. It took
me a little while to decide that it was just a dream and I really hadn't
eaten that way. It was an awful dream.

Has anyone else had these kind of dreams?

Good luck today.
Jackie

Hi Jackie.....While you were dreaming that awful dream I was actually carrying it out.Well some of it anyway. ...I just found this website today and am hoping that reading and posting here will be helpful to my problem of overeating, especially in the evening hours (even after I have eaten a wholesome and healthy dinner.)....It is not from boredom as I have an interesting and busy life but still I have this uncontrollable desire to snack till the cows come home. It's not about hunger and I can control myself quite nicely during the daytime hours....Jackie or anyone else out there with any suggestions or if you share my problem I would like to hear from you.....Charlo

Not food dreams, but I have erotic fantasies about Colonel Sanders and
the Gorton's Fisherman...

Rough Night

Gizzie,

I hadn't thought about Colonel Sanders or the Gorton's Fisherman in that way
until now. It sounds like it would be finger-licking good, (That was
awful.) and instead of having a cigarette after I could have another piece
of chicken or fish. I look forward to going to bed tonight. WOOHOO!!!!
Guilt-free eating (sleeping)!

Rough Night

Charlo,

I have a tendency to do a lot of my eating (snacking) late at night. What I
found to be helpful is to have healthy low snacks to munch on.

For example:
I count calories, so I will cut up a small cantaloupe (about 150 calories
for the whole thing) and snack on it late in the evening. But sometimes
To be honest, most of the time I don't want anything healthy, I want junk
food. So I fix something like fresh strawberries, sugar free chocolate
syrup, fat free whip topping, and a little splenda on top. It helps me to
feel like I'm cheating even thought I'm not.

Hot green tea (the flavored ones) also seems to help curb my desire to
munch, also sweetened with splenda. It's healthy too.

I also exercise when I start feeling peckish in the evening. It may not
feel me up, but it gets my mind off of it for a while. That is probably the
key,
do something to take your mind off of it. I know it is easier said than
done.

I hope something I said helps, and welcome to the group.

Jackie

[quote=charlo;379828]I'm new here...just found this site today.I am having a little trouble navigating but I will keep trying as I feel like this could be a very good thing for me and my compulsive overeating in the evening hours after consuming a decent and well balanced dinner. I can control my cravings during the daytime hours just fine but I go bonkers after 6 p.m.....It is not out of boredom or hunger as I have a full and interesting life......If I go out in the evening I will control myself nicely and then come home and start the "parade" between the den and the fridge or pantry......Sure would like to hear from any one who has had or has conquered this problem...Thank you ,Charlo
