Topic of delicate nature men avert your eyes.. women, has this happened to you?

I thought that losing weight was suppose to solve pain, not bring it on!

I've lost about 40lbs now and I'm feeling good. Except for a few minor
things. One is that I see to have a pain in my hip that comes and goes
usually when I'm sitting (after reading the sciatica thread I'm wondering).
I am also getting a bit of back pain which I think is associated to the hips
as well. And here folks is where men should avert their eyes. While having
sex with my husband a few days ago, I found it uncomfortable. He could
enter fine but an inch in it would feel like he was having to go up and over
a bone which caused a great deal of friction (ouch). It's on the bottom
part of the vaginal wall and when he tried to see if he could feel anything
with his fingers he said all felt normal. The only thing I could feel was
the connection of the pubic bone at the entrance to the canal. It felt sort
of like a semi-circle. We tried switching positions.. me on top, from
behind, side to side but nothing seemed to relieve it. I was so frustrated
and tired by that point that we didn't try missionary. This didn't happen
at a higher weight or even 10lbs ago. It has me wondering if I've developed
some sort of tumor or... well I don't know an or. I am urinating a lot but
that could also be due to drinking lots of water (3-4 liters). One thing
that makes me think the urinating is not related is because when I do go, I
go a fair bit. IOW, it's not a tiny piddle. Otherwise I feel fine. I
don't feel pain. Pooping is fine and regular. I feel a bit of uterus
discomfort but I am expecting TOM in about a week or so and that seems to be
the normal for me now a days.

Any clues gals??!!

I can relate to pain in the hip, which I've described here in the
sciatica thread, but not to the rest of what you describe.

I think you know that you really should go and see your doctor. I
would guess it's either that you've found bones you didn't know you
had before, which is common after losing weight (although you'd expect
sex to be easier as you lose weight, not more difficult), or that
maybe you have some kind of a prolapse or something. Whatever,, get
to your doctor and see what he says. Good luck:)

Yes that's what I had planned on but I was hoping to have some ideas of what
it could be to shoot at him. I just got some more blood work done for
triglycerides, sugar and cholesterol so I will be seeing him for those
results in about a week anyhow. I had planned to ask him for a bone density
test and I will certainly bring up the hip pain I've been having as well as
back discomfort. I will have to actually find a gynocologist though which
may take awhile. I'm not comfortable going to my GP for that. Apparently
it's not just a "pick them out of a list" kind of thing. Often you need
referrals. News to me. I had always had no problem. Mind you the last
time I saw one was when I had my daughter and that was an OB/GYN. That was
7 yrs ago. The time before that I was 18 and it was at a family planning
clinic for youths.

One thing I forgot to mention about the hips is that I took a 21hr trip to
see my mother. We drove almost straight through stopping only every 4hrs
for bathroom/gas and only for about 10 minutes or so. That's when things
seemed to start bothering me. I've been back since the 5th though and it
hasn't gone away. Something to mention to doc I suppose.

What test is it that determins sciatica?

Well, sex is not supposed to be painful. In my opinion, sex shouldn't
become painful from losing weight either, so I doubt it's related to that.
I would definitely go in for a pelvic exam, because there are a number of
things that can cause pain and it would be best for peace of mind to
eliminate them. I don't know how old you are, but sometimes women's organs
"settle" over time, like the bladder and whatnot, that could put alot of
pressure on the vagina - which could feel like a blockage of some sort.
Also, are you adequately lubricated?

I just turned 30 at the end of June. What's confusing is that the "bump"
seemed to be on the bottom (ie, the rectal side) of things. It isn't pain,
but it is certainly discomfort. There was plenty of lubrication also. I
thought that perhaps certain bones popped up after weight loss... I dunno
: - / I will definitely schedule something with a gyno. But out of
curiosity, what are the number of things?
