Or as in cut-offs, badly!

Fat thighs bulging out of (very) short cut-offs is not a pretty sight.

Funny that you mentioned this today of all days. I went shopping for
jeans today. Everything I own is literally hanging on me and I have a
b-day party at a casual country bar to go to this weekend so I did the
jeans shop ALL DAY LONG today. I finally settled on a pair of Lawman
Jeans (cowgirl type, like Rockies if your familiar with those) in a size
16/17 - It is/was a real reality check for me on my weight loss. I am
very impressed with myself and my progress but at the same time.. :( I
have so far to go it's not even funny. *sigh*. The 16/17's fit ok, a
little snug across the butt but over all they fit well everywhere else.

Susan
260/220/160 so far to go still :(

Susan!!!! It's not so far! (and you'll be smoke free and rich too!) In my
pictures, those black jeans are the size 16s - Bought them on eBay and I
wore them 4 times! The gal I bought them from had done the same thing but
she wore them twice! (are you short? I'll send them to you)

Tomorrow comes whether we lose weight or not. Enjoy the ride.

I buy the stretch Faded Glory and love them because they give in the waist
and are more comfortable bending, etc.

You're right..they are cheap and do come in "petite". I hate to shorten
jeans. (G)

Patricia

I was shocked how *lightweight* size 4P (and 6P) jeans were the first time I
picked them up. I had never considered how much less material it takes to
make smaller clothes. I can put more in the washing machine too!

My Rule: I will not shorten jeans bought for full price in a store. I WILL
shorten 2nd hand, perfectly fitting jeans that cost up to five dollars g

I've been trying to find some new, more stylish jeans lately. My jeans
just don't fit right any more. Mine are all baggy and make me look

heavier
than I am. So, I've been on a quest. And a hopeless quest at that.
Every pair I try on - even going up in sizes, they are skin tight.

I don't want saggy baggies... but I don't want the painted on look

either.
I've tried many brands, from lee, levi, gloria, to liz and others of no
names...

How do your jeans fit?

Skin tight?
Saggy baggy
or comfortably loose where you can grab the fabric and pull away.

What brands do you wear?

Answer especially if you are a pear... :)
(cheesy rhyme not really intended).

I've been wearing Lee Riders from Wal Mart. The stretch ones fit well and
still allow for a lot of movement. The relaxed fit are too big in the legs
if they fit my belly area. There is one other "fit" between relaxed and
stretch that I can't remember what it's called but it works for me. I have
a problem with some jeans because I have a very well defined waist and if
they fit my hips, they are usually too boxy for the waist or too baggy in
the legs. I also can't wear low rise because of the excess belly skin.
Mid-rise seem to be ok. Some brands in the slim fit work for me too, but
they tend to look painted on.

The Levis were tight in the waist and way too big in the legs. Anything
pleated in the front seems to have the same problem except for Dockers, but
I go through sizes too quickly to afford them right now.

My most favorite fitting pants are a pair of Old Navy capri khakis.

They
fit perfectly in every way. But I haven't found any Old Navy slacks or
jeans that fit that good...

That's the other thing - capri EVERYTHING! I'm going up to Boston in a

few
weeks, and it will be "cold" by my standards. I don't want capri's... I
want jeans that fit. argh.

I'm having the same problem finding full length pants! I'm always freezing
and stopped wearing capris almost a month ago, though I do still wear above
the knee skirts (with panty hose starting this week and ready for tights).
I'm looking for navy colored corduroys to go with a wardrobe of sweaters I
just received as a gift. Navy is not the color for this year :(.

What I really want is the exact same pants I have (I bought several pairs

A 6
is a long shot, but it might fit because the pants have elastic on the

sides of
the waistband and gather a bit in front. But of course I haven't seen

that
style sold this fall. (Cardinal rule, "If you like it and it fits, they

will

Old Navy has corduroy pants with a little spandex in them, which can
help get a nice close fit. Another possibility is Land's End. They
have nice corduroy and twill pants in a wide range of styles, but of
course the drawback is that you can't try them on first.

Land's End has some retail stores in major metro areas and they are
excellent about returns on mail order stuff. I plan to buy my wardrobe from
there when I finally get to a size I'll probably be at for more than a
month.

Do you know if Sears is carrying their clothes now? Sears owns 'em, now.

I do not know because I live 70 miles from the nearest mall and only get
there every couple of months and I've never been in the Sears. When I get
down that way wear myself out at the Fashion Bug outlet, Sam's Club, the
sports store, and Kohl's and never actually get to the mall :) When I do go
to the mall I'm too busy in Victoria's Secret getting another bra fitting or
hitting the clearance racks and Christopher & Banks.
Locally, we have a teeny tiny Penney's about 30 miles away. Since I have to
try everything on these days I've been dependent on Wal Mart for essentials
and the occasional trip to Penney's.

If Land's End works for you, here are some:

They're probably as pricey as Dockers, though.

I saw those and I'm seriously considering them in another month or so. LL
Bean also has a a nice pair. Right now I still need shoes and we need some
stuff for around the house so that's where this month's expendable income is
going (tomorrow actually). Mentally I still have a hard time spending more
than $15 on any article of clothing these days even though I have an
excellent seamstress that could make alterations if necessary since I'm not
planning to get much smaller than I am now. I need to get over the guilt at
how much I've spent on my wardrobe.
