Carbs per gram for Red (salad) Onion
I can't locate this anywhere. I have a hunch that red onions are lower
in carbs than brown or white onions, but its just a hunch. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks... -- All the best, Pete ------------------------------------------------ Home Page: http://users.bigpond.com/lansma Location: 42°53'S; 147°19'E |

I can't find anything on red onions, but Welsh onions have fewer carbs than "onions" on this government list: http://www.nal.usda.gov/fnic/foodcomp/search/ |
Thanks for that.

I've never heard of Welsh onions so googled them. They're not what you're
looking for; they're green or spring onions. I grew up calling red onions 'Spanish onions'. This was the only site I could find for red onions but it doesn't list the fib http://www.sppscafe.org/Red_Onion.html However, when I look up regular onions in FitDay, it's the same total carb count. on Sat, 18 Jun 2005 09:23:04 GMT, "Pete" wrote: Thanks for that. ----- Bev |
