As I lose weight, I'm finding I have more back trouble. My lower paunch fat
seems to be the last to leave, and the balance of my body is off. Just five minutes of leaning forward, or half an hour of standing over a table project makes my upper to mid back hurt. Cubit 311/238.7/165 |

I'm very off-balance now that my waist has shrunk, I've found that I'm very top-heavy. I've recently had far more back aches - usually they come while I'm at work and there's nothing I can do about it. I have found some stretches that really really help with the back pain (they prevent if, if I can remember to do it each morning) Lie on the floor on your back. Then make your lower back, where it curves, bend down to touch the floor. Not sure how to explain this in words. :) You can also do it with one knee up, then the other, then both.... hmmm, maybe I could find some pictures of this online. Oh, here's one: http://www.exrx.net/Stretches/ErectorSpinae/Lying.html And what a yummy guy they chose to take a picture of. :) -- Spring LC since 1/1/04 260/214/170 |

Not for spot reduction, but so your stomach muscles can support your back. He doesn't want to exercise. Cubit 311/238.7/165 I'm also suddenly having lower back pain (more in the quadratus muscles than the erector spinae), after losing 30+ lbs doing low carb. I'm doing a recommended array of exercises for direct treatment of this, with some benefit. Seems like it may be slowly going away. Fast weight loss certainly seen to be able to throw a person out of balance. Funny I never had such problems when gaining weight.... Alan |

Walking and driving can be pretty uncomfortable sometimes, but sleeping is the worst. I sleep on my side, and now I have to have a pillow between my legs, but I move around in my sleep so much that it doesn't stay there, so I wake up with aches in whichever leg is on top. -- Michelle Levin http://www.mindspring.com/~lunachick I have only 3 flaws. We can all speculate, but we are carrying ourselves differently, and also
probably getting more active. I tried some back exercises on a new piece of equipment and pulled a side muscle- my neck hurt because I can now tilt my head back farther with out the neck fat. I was also very surprised at how stiff I had become- I definably can use some workouts -- Diane Atkins since 12/4/2003 234/199 /150 5"8 CCLL about 27 Enjoy life & keep the calories down to your weight x 10 and watch the salt!
