Third week of LC and for the first time hungry...

Hi,

I am just past "induction" and yesterday for the first time in my
lowcarbing I felt something I did not know for the two weeks...

Hunger.

I feel like there is something missing in my food.

It is good that I am definitely NOT craving for simple carbs. Potatos,
wheat products and other carb junk leave me absolutely cold.

What would probably satisfied my taste would be more fruits, I feel I
would be able to eat a lot of oranges. But each orange is about 10g of
fructosa...

Another explanation is a lack of caffein - I tried to reduce it now (I
know I should have done it on induction, that is why I call my induction
"fairly clean" rather than "clean"). I have found that when I drink
coffee with fair amount of cream, it keeps me satisfied for several
hours.

Or could it be the lack of fiber ? Days before I was often eating cabage
for super. Lightly fried with oil to get soft, mixed with cream cheese
and mushrooms tastes great, but you cannot have it each day.

What I definitely know is I am unable to eat more fat right now :)

induction is only two weeks. you can add fruit back into your diet
after you finish induction. be patient.

why can't you have it each day? if you like it, eat it.

I think, based on what I have read, that the highest dandger for LC
dropout is boredome. It might taste good, but it is still the same
thing...

Anyway, thanks for reply.

Do an internet search for: low carbohydrate recipes
No need to be bored. Find new things to cook.

I can't imagine being bored. There's so much food out there we can
eat. It's just about being creative and taking the time to cook. Even
if you only have 1 day a week. Cook alot then freeze it for the week.
I'm so glad it's forcing me to do this cause now I really know what
the hell I'm eating and it taste better than any fast food. In fact
yesterday I got hungry (on my fat fast which I'm off now I figured out
I need more fat in my diet) and decided to buy pork rinds. Now mind
you I refused to eat pork for over 15 years! I thought about it and
there was no rational exlanation as to why not (except I still dislike
the taste of ham and pork chops)But now I can add a number of new
things to eat like bacon and faux cinnomon crips etc. It's great!

if you like it and want to eat it, then how is it boring? i often eat
the same things for weeks on end and i don't get bored of them. don't
let outside forces decide things for you. you like it and it fits in
your plan? then eat it whenever you want it. *if* you get bored, then
switch to something else...but don't plan on being bored ahead of time.

For the last few days I have been thinking of the meal that you
posted. I made some sautéed cabbage with cream cheese and sautéed
mushrooms tonight. I added some chicken breast meat cut up. This was
really tasty and filling. Thank you for posting the combination it
was very good. I imagine adding cooked ground beef to this mixture
would be good too. I think I'll be trying that next time.

Thank you Mirek. :)
