Only your own body will every burn a gram of fat! 2) Protein does *not* increase your metabolism. Your body runs on sugar, whatever the original source of that sugar may have been (fat, protein or carbohydrate). Without the sugar, you die. Which is the problem with diabetes. Too much sugar is deadly, not enough sugar is even deadlier. You have to constantly be in the right balance, and that's no easy job. 3) Nothing against cellulose, but nothing much for it either. It makes good paper and cardboard, if there's enough of it. Eat veggies for their low caloric value, vitamins and minerals, anti-oxidants and micro-nutrients. The whole "fiber is great" theory has been proven a bust. Take enough to stay regular, and don't expect any other benefits from it - because it doesn't have any. Fiber is an inert substance the body can't break down, like a gift for Christmas that you can never open up. Aside from assisting in avoiding constipation, and irritating your intestines and colon, somewhat (especially if you get dehydrated), it's only use is if you (quite wrongly), stuff yourself with fiber to avoid any possible feelings of hunger. Which is surely unhealthy, and bodes ill for a successful diet in the long term. As a dieter, you can't be afraid of an occasional hungry feeling. That's perfectly normal, and healthy. Non-fat people feel it regularly, and even come to enjoy it, knowing it makes the food they'll eat soon, taste even better. :) It's not something to run in fear from. No one has ever died from feeling slightly hungry between meals. |
