Bad news

Ig my thoughts are with you. I have been through a nodule removal to
have to have repeated surgury 4 days later for a melignant thyroid
cancer. I then had teh radioactive iodine therapy. Currently waiting
for my next lot of testing in september. I know what it is like. Be
strong, continue to feed your body correctly so it is in the best
possible condition to fight. I think that I was at my fittest and
healthiest in about 5 years helped me through a very tough time.
Take care and let us know how you get on,

((((((((((((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))))))))) )))))

My grandpa had thyroid cancer in 1969, so it must be hereditary. He
says he still has my histology report from my surgery 10 years ago,
it said the adenoma was benign (to say benign adenoma is redundant)

news like this are a great appetite suppressant...

I got similar news Friday when a CT scan for a different purpose turned up
a nodule on the thyroid. One of my friends suggested www.endocrineweb.com.
If you haven't checked there yet, give it a try. It had more information
than anyplace else I've looked so far, and most of the news was good. I
was pleased to see that the usual diagnostic procedure, fine needle
aspiration, is said to be painless.

The same friend pointed out that sudden weight loss can be a symptom of
some thyroid lesions and asked if that was how I'd lost weight recently.
No way. I worked hard for those 28 lbs. and it hasn't been sudden. I'm not
sharing credit with some nodule.

Best wishes,

Paul

Thanks for that website. I have endocrinological issues (parathyroid and
adrenal) and it seems to have a lot of good stuff.
