Low-carb dieters eat more calories and still lose weight

Calories mean squat. Check out this story:

"The dietary establishment has long argued it's impossible, but a new
study offers intriguing evidence for the idea that people on
low-carbohydrate diets can actually eat more than folks on standard
lowfat plans and still lose weight."

Now, if this is correct then it completely throws the calorie theory
out the window, doesn't it?

It doesn't say that calories mean squat at all. Everyone was eating
a low-calorie diet.

What were the volumes of food? Fish, chicken, and salads, as used in
this study, is a fairly healthy diet, and no one is arguing this.
What is contentious is that you can lose weight while eating 4,000 fat
caories a day ( or whatever ).

We also don't know what the "low fat" diet was. Was it high in sugar?
Simple, white, bread? No one thinks those things are healthy.

I'd be a lot more impressed if they checked body composition, and
fitness levels; I'm (personally) interested in losing fat, not weight
per se.

Low carb means less insulin.
Insulin is what makes you fat.
There are a lot of people who don't want to know this simple fact.

This should be required reading for all on low carb diets.
