Food & Exercise -- 7/12/2007
Went for an early run today. In the afternon I went over to the
conservancy and we climbed the mountain to put out two moth traps. The catch to this is that each has a 12-volt battery that weighs quite a bit -- Michael (the director) thinks 12 lbs -- feels like at least that much when you're climbing with it. The rest of the trap is a sort of kit in a bucket -- not very heavy. I carried a battery (in my backpack) and bucket to the first location -- only about 1/3 mile or so up, but a steep ascent. The rest of the way to the summit (about another mile) Michael carried the other battery and I carried the other bucket. The descent was easy, of course, with no stuff. After that I went to the winery for a while. Food: * 7:45 (home): oatmeal w/ peanut butter & flax seed * 10:30 (home): 2 fiber rye crackers w/ ~1/2 oz. French hard cheese * 12:45 (driving to conservancy): 2-3 oz. Healthy Choice cold cuts {didn't get around to a real lunch} * 3:30 (winery): 2 glasses wine; pita crisps w/ garlic & artichoke dip {Maybe 1/2 cup of dip altogether -- hard to say how many crisps, since they're just broken pieces of pitas.} * 7:45 (home): salad w/ greens, veggies, ~6 oz. shrimp, a little bit of goat cheese & dried cranberries, f/f vinaigrette * 9:00 (home): 1 peach Exercise: * 7:00: 3 mile run * 1:00 -- 3:00: hike w/ moth traps Chris 262/130s/130s |
