Week 27 Report - bad, middling and good news

The bad news is that, as I feared at the beginning of the week, I did end up
gaining some this week. This is the 3rd week this has happened out of 27
total weeks on the diet. (The last time I had a week with a gain was back in
September).

The middling news is that it wasn't too bad a gain! Just 0.4 kg! I was much
more worried at the beginning of the week because my weight had gone from
102 kg last Friday to 103.4 on Saturday and then to 103.6 on Monday. But it
started coming down again over the week (I didn't change anything) and I
ended up at 102.4. So over the last TWO weeks I still have a total weight
loss of 1.0 kg = 2.2 lb. Definitely a downward trend. And if you consider
the unusually large drop last week, well, it all evens out.

Also "to the nearest pound" I still am down a total of 50 lb. So things
could definitely be worse!

And the good news is that I was rustling through some closets and came
across two old-but-barely-used shirts from a good number of years ago that I
had apparently stowed away because they didn't fit anymore. For fun I tried
them on and... they hang loosely and comfortably on me! So I have some
"free", barely used shirts for the winter!

actually pretty much not :):). The way down was easily as fun as
maintenance. One really good reason to start as you plan to go on....

Don't worry about the small stumbling blocks along the way, Doug, the
end result is what matters and you are doing great.

Just like my kids, you are always expecting way too much :) It gets
lots better. This December I can wear all the beautiful clothes I
bought last December and feel good that some of my skirts are two sizes
smaller than my previous size. The biggest bonus of all is self-esteem.
When you feel good about yourself, you can conquer the world, or at
least a tiny portion of it...your life. I have tons more energy and get
so much more done in my day when I'm at goal. I am also a happier
person.
