How many books have you gone through?

I just had to buy my 3rd copy of Atkin's New Diet Revolution. I gave my first
one to a good friend, and she got pregnant (it wasn't an Atkins baby, she found
out her first week) so she gave it to her Mom, who was interested in how I did
it too. Then I gave another copy to a mother of my daughter's friend, who was
equally impressed. I must have a weak spot for compliments. People say they
want to do what I did, and I just give it away, LOL! What's sad is that between
people I've given the book to, and people who have bought the book on my
recommendation, they all had the exact same reaction. Some version of "Wow,
this is nothing like I thought Atkins would be!" Do people really think we just
sit around all day hacking meat off the side of a dead animal and stuffing it
down our throats? I guess the PCRM is doing a better job than I thought with
their scare tactics.

I wore out my first copy. Then I bought a copy for my Dad and the carb
counter - I don't think he looked at them. He is a major sugar-addict and
although not overweight he's not-so-healthy from it. Lots of anxiety too.
Then I bought a new copy when I returned to LC after having my kids and
gaining 60lbs over the 4 years & 2 pregnancies.

The usual story is tht you find a really good book and you loan (loan =
"give" to too many people) it to somebody who never reads it, or never
returns it either.

Almost as good as throwing the book away.

Except someone else helps you.

OK my other post was a joke (except I have read the books in question haha)
but I have read the book and recommended it to others to see if the Atkins
diet is exactly what they think it is... The few I've talked to are
surprised that it's not that "all meat" diet.

I think I've given away 4 copies in the last 5 years. Worth
it every time. I've also donated one of each edition to my
local libraries.
