More Questions-lightheadedness
Single male, 71 yrs old. 6 foot tall. Stocky build.
Weighed 281# during Dr's appointment on Mar 12, 09. I thought I may have been having heart problems. Was not the case. .. Started a WW type diet on approx. Mar 24. .. . . .May 18, weighed 246.2 pounds in morning. Net loss 35 pounds in approx 55 days. This does not seem excessive (.64 lbs/day). I have had periods of lightheadedness. Especially when I have no breakfast. I am now (on a crash reduction diet) attempting to lose as much weight as fast as possible, so I never exceed my weekly points. (35 now). I usually range up to 85 percent of the 35 points. I bank zero pts. .. . . .When I get to approx 285 lbs, I will change over to a maintaining type diet. .. . . . . . History .. . . .Sept 1959, 22 years old, weighted 235 pounds during Army Basic Training 'Zero week'. 'Week 5' weighed 185 pounds during halfway PT and weight exams. .. . . .Feb 1966, weighed 245 pounds when I went to work on Minutemen Two missles as an Ironworker. Six weeks later weighed 185 pounds. .. . . .My major concern right now is the lightheadedness. I do have poor lungs, and with any execertion I start panting. With the summer heat now present the lightheadedness could be caused by those factors, or my diet. I just got a bottle of Calcium supplement as I also suffer from 'Charlie horses' after a day of exercertion. Daily I take a hypertension pill (Lisinopril, and a water pill). And a mass of vitamins. Sure would appreciate any comments, hints, advice, or familarity with my concerns. I Thank any and all. |
Correction
.. . . .When I get to approx 185 lbs, I will change over to a maintaining
type diet. Following sentence was in error. . . . . ."When I get to approx 285 lbs, I will change over to a maintaining type diet". It should have read as the first above sentence. |

I was getting light headed also. Found I wasn't eating enough or
often enough. My blood glucose dropped to 157. Way too low. Just a thought. Louie |

The maximum rate of sustained healthy weight loss is 2 pounds per week. Are you actually doing WW and following the healthy guidelines? |

You will lose very fast, if you're lucky you won't get sick from your crash
dieting, and then whether you make it to goal or not, your weight will shoot back up with most probably more than you started with. Crash dieting is not very healthy, and very rarely successful long term. Good luck though, everybody has to learn the hard way I guess. By the way, healthy rate of weight loss is .5 to 2 lbs/week.. so yeah, you're losing too fast. If any of this is true of course... Will~ "pintlar" wrote in message ...
