Two questions

1. Is there a non-fat butter type spread? If so, what is its brand name? I
can't find anything locally except 'Lite' which is too high.
In this line how does one stir fry without oil? I suppose I could
waste a point for a tps of oil (peanut) but I would rather hoard points.

2. I understand that a boiled spud is better for a WW dieter than a 'nuked'
spud. Is this true?
I weigh my raw spud and then nuke it.
It usually loses about 10 percent weight after nuking.
I then take the 'nuked' spud and divide it so there are no parts more than 4
ozs. I figure this is about the 3 point area. Am I correct?
I would be willing to pressure cook a whole batch of spuds and use them this
way. Would this be better? Whatever I'm doing it is
working. Thank God.

I use cooking spray in a nonstick wok or pan.

Use one of your required healthy oils (peanut is NOT on the list). If the
oil in your diet goes too low, your hair may get brittle and fall out, your
nails may get brittle, your bowel movements may be poor, and your skin may
be dry and inelastic (i.e. won't shrink well as you lose weight).

No there is no difference between a nuked spud or a boiled one. It's about
how much potato you eat.

*********** I cannot locate anything as a healthy oil. Would olive oil be a
healthy oil? It would still be 1 point / tps. How about any fat free
butter substitutes? thanks pintlar

None that I would want to eat anyway..

1- you are supposed to eat 2 tsp of healthy oil every day... no fat at all
is not a good idea.

2- You can use a non-stick pan, and use either cooking spray or broth..
broth doesn't bring great results in my opinion..

2. I understand that a boiled spud is better for a WW dieter than a
'nuked' spud. Is this true?

Not really.. a potato is a potato. It's healthy in moderation..

I weigh my raw spud and then nuke it.
It usually loses about 10 percent weight after nuking.
I then take the 'nuked' spud and divide it so there are no parts more than
4 ozs. I figure this is about the 3 point area. Am I correct?

You mean cook the hell out of them? then any nutrition is cooked out of
them, so you're wasting your calories anyway.

Whatever I'm doing it is
working. Thank God.

Make sure that it works long term... losing weight is only half of the
battle, if even that much. Do to lose weight something you can do for the
rest of your life... if not, you're wasting your time.

Will~

No wonder I lost 23 pounds in two weeks.
I went with 4 oz nuked spuds @ 3 points. This was during a totally fat free
period. I use fat free salad dressing & pepper on the spud.
I have had some symtoms though. I have experienced faintness a few
times (this was during zero fats).
Incidentally, I was previous (2 weeks) on a zero sodium diet (my decision).
Now I'm relaxing the sodium restriction, hoping the weight loss compensates
for the hypertension.
Also, I think my ears are starting to grow, and my nose is starting to
twitch.

Temptation has struck. My neighbor brought over a plate full of a
Croatian dish called 'preznats' (sp?). No cube is over 3 oz but it has to
be 80 % fat.....so I have my fat ration for 12 days on that plate.
Thank God some fat is good for you. That dish is delicous and one hell of a
temptation.
Nice thing about this diet is that I am never really starving and a
mouthful of celery (pepper & ff salad dressing) seems to satisfy for quite a
while.
Thanks for your imput. It will surely help....pintlar
ps. I'm a really really old fart.

Giggle... Me too! ;)

Be relaxed about the odd treat: that way you never feel deprived. It's
Easter: I had a little chocolate from my son and husband's Lint Bunny
and Tornton's easter eggs, but no egg or bun of my own, so I won't be
pigging as those are THEIR treats, and therefore no temptation.
