How to get myself out of a plateau?

I've lost 30 lbs over the last 3 1/2 months (180 to 150). I have a flat
stomach for the first time in my life, but I still have a little chunkiness
left and I'd like to be able to see my abs. My weightloss has stalled for
the last few weeks however.

Can anyone recommend something to kick-start the loss again?

How many weeks are you talking about here? A couple of weeks isn't a stall
anyway, it's your body saying "Ok, lemme get used to this." You don't
mention if you exercise now or not. If you don't, start. Especially do
some weight training. Oh, btw, great results! Congrats!

Hi, sorry I wasn't more specific. I'd say about 3 weeks of plateau. For
the last 3 months I've been doing crunches, pushups, and work with free
weights regularly.

Read up on the Fat Fast. I've never tried this. I am stuck right now and
have been for almost a year.

Only 5lbs left to lose, but been working on that for a year now, lol.

Lower the volume of food. The smaller you get, the less calories you need.

Try eating less and exercising more.

Keep you same eating habits and increase exercise. It does get pretty hard
to get that last little bit off. I have been at it for a while myself, but
it is coming off slow.

I'd been stalled about six weeks, and I discussed it with my doctor -
he's been overseeing my weight loss from the start. One of the things
he mentioned during my discussion was that anything from 3-12 weeks of
plateau can mean your body just settling down.

He also said that up until he turned 40 or so, he'd have said (as JC
so often does) that calories were the be-all-and-end-all of weight
loss and if you just eat less you will lose weight. That had been his
experience. Then after he turned 40, he discovered that it ain't
necessarily so, that he can eat extremely carefully and not lose an
ounce, at least for a few days or even weeks, but if he sticks at it,
eventually his weight will go down.

That's also been my experience: if you find you don't lose over a few
weeks, don't immediately start tinkering with what you eat, just keep
going for a while and see what happens.

I am also at a plateau for about 4 weeks. I've lost 50 lbs, exercise hard 3
times a week at a gym on the xtrainer and treadmill. It's hard to keep the
faith when the scale goes up and down the same lousy one pound for so long!
I'm female, 66 yrs old, and a teenager at heart!

How to get myself out of a plateau?

i was on a plateau for a month or so (see
http://home.triad.rr.com/bmorrell/1yearplus.JPG)

just 5 pounds above my goal. I began to think that i had reached my body's
real goal and should stay there, then realized i had never systematically
added back carbs until i was off ketosis. So, i decided to start the diet
all over again, going through all three phases one week at a time, and see
where my ketosis point was. I pledged that whatever weight i was at at the
end of 3 weeks would be my new target weight.

to my surprise, i began losing weight immediately. For me, the plateau
apparently was an accumulation of adding back too much food here and there
(nuts were definitely a weekness) I actually ended up overshooting my goal
of 160 temporarily. i have been on maint for almost 6 months now.
