avoiding the truth but the fact that the school is defunct is very
pertinent.

I am not deluding myself. There are schools that get closed every day.
That does not negate their existence or their graduates.

Not everyone has parents that can pay for their child's education.
Sometimes the "child" had to go and make their own way.


If the school is defunct and has no contact resources such as a phone
number or an email address there are problems that you are looking at
with a blind eye.

No. I graduated in 1984. There could be several reasons why it is not
there anymore.

1. I graduated in 1984. That was 27 years ago. At the time it was the
only security management degree available other than at Cal State
Long. I am sure that there are several available now.

2. The tuition was cheaper than Cal State Long Beach and more
accommodating to a person who worked full time.

3. The curriculum was more in line with my career at the time.

4. California is known for small for profit accredited colleges and
this was one of many.

5. It has survived the test of time and idiots.



Suppose that you list Academy International on a resume as the source
of your Bachelor's Degree.

There is no way for the prospective
employer to verify this.

If you look very hard you can find an address where transcripts can be
verified. No, I am not going to give it to you. Why? Because I don't
care what you think.


They will not know if you had a 2.0 GPA or a
4.0 GPA.

I graduated with a 4.0 with honors.


For you to tell them or even if you presented your old
copies of your transcripts will not work.

Never expected it to.

Most employers will not
accept your copies of the transcripts.

if the school simply closed it doors and left town with no point of
contact. No provision for transcripts etc.

The quoted (limited) information on the school was most likely
obtained from the National Schools Data Base. Quite obviously it
contains nothing that will impress a prospective employer and might
even lessen your chances of being hired.

It hasn't so far.


You might be well advisee to never include Academy International on
your resume.

I earned my degree there and it has and will continue to be put on my
resume as part of my education.


Especially if it is true what another poster wrote that
Academy International was a Private for Profit school operating out of
a storefront location.

there are ways to obtain transcripts and diplomas. The legit one that
is on the web asks for the name of the school involved. Sadly, many
little known schools are listed but not any Academy International.

But Blobbi, all is not lost. I now know how you can get them.
