Day 54 and 25 pounds are gone

Got on my scale this morning and still was at 240. The indicator
balanced at about 240 and a half, and so I still have lost no more
than 25 pounds. The faster weight of days gone by has ended and I am
stuck with the slow plod towards success.

I added a new line to my watchband. This morning I have the following:
54
25
1000T
NB
wth the last two being in red on the same little adhesive strip
(actually a file folder sticker). The 1000T tells me that my total
calorie intake for the day will be 1000 calories, with no additional
subtraction for exercise. And of course 54 is the day I am on this
diet and exercise program and 25 is the number of pounds lost so far.
I change the top number daily and the second number as the pounds are
lost.

The total calorie goal for the day (1000 today) impresses me with its
power to pull my behavior. With that number on my watchband, I don't
have any misapprehensions about what my goal is, about whether I
should fudge a few extra calories here and there. (There was a
terrible news story here in Oregon this morning about a driver south
of Salem who drove in the wrong direction on I-5 South and was killed
by a truck. This is the same area in which a drunk driver killed two
symphony members several weeks ago and there is suspicion that bad
signage may have been responsible for both of these awful events. I
believe in clear, easy-to-see signage and think that it will prevent
accidents and also help us with other things - like not straying from
our health programs.)

I hope that we all find ways to continue to adhere to our health
programs!

Yours truly,

Caleb

Jackie -- GREAT!! Thanks so much for your far too kind words!

Part of the reason why I am writing is to show that if we keep at it,
we WILL lose the weight. It's not rocket science.

Keep it up!

And again, thanks for your far too kind words!

Yours truly,

Caleb
