It's hard to say whether I "learned" anything as much as developed some
opinions about the similarities between early Christianity and
Buddhism. I also have some opinions about why certain texts were
included as canonical and others were not.



I know zilch about the gnostics, apart John Cage's quotation of Meister
Eckhart's "Split the stick. There is Jesus", which I manages to make
me feel good every time I passing think of it !



Has it benefited you ?


I like knowing the stuff is out there, seeing common threads, etc. I
suppose that's a benefit.
