I've most often heard of shellfish and pork, but have never heard of a
lamb allergy -- you gotta be making this up no no no just kidding!

I think a true allergy is usually to some form of protein? I don't know
enough about allergies.

Hi Chris and Crafting Mom - this is the only other lamb allergy I've heard of too.
Being a good Croatian, I find it heartbreaking! :-) Just kidding. The weird thing is
that lamb is usually used in a "non-allergenic" diet of lamb and rice that people are
often encouraged to try as a first step if they want to test themselves for food
allergies. Thank God I do not have anything near to an anaphylactic reaction -- in
fact once a year at Easter I do have a small slice of lamb and seem to do OK with
that.

CM, I think you are right about the protein factor -- in fact, my allergies to cats
and dogs have to do with the protein in their saliva, rather than anything to do with
their fur -- or so I've been told. But I'm also allergic to rabbits and horses and
cattle hair, etc. and they don't lick themselves like cats and dogs do -- so there
must be some other factor too.
