I found when I stopped eating grains I became allergic to them.
I find I need some carbs I just don't eat enough fat for energy. once I
started riding my bike 20 miles a day I find before each ride 10 miles each way
for commuting I need to eat 3 pieces of fruit. Plus beans in my diet. that works
for me.
the weird thing is I don't even seem to get energy when I eat grains or sugar.
