Hey guys,
I just wanted to introduce myself to the group. DoughBoy, call me
Dough.
You'll see me around quite a bit. I've been lurking here for a while.
I've
been fat all of my life (I don't use 'heavy' to describe it. I'm fat.).
In
June of 1998 I decided to do something about it. At 316 pounds and
barely
out of adolescence, I made the change to eating LC via the Atkins plan.
From June, 1998 till Feb 1999 I lost 108 pounds to a svelte 208. I was
going
to the gym for an hour every morning doing cardio and lifting hard
every
night...then I fell off the wagon in a bad way. Now, closing in on
360,
I've gone back to LC.
Over the last years, while putting the weight back on(and some), I've
tried
to get control again, but I always lacked the will power, never getting
past
a week with anything that I've tried (including the many 'tries' to get
back
to the LC lifestyle). Its been 8 days and I'm feeling great. Finally
over
the 1 week 'hump' and my body is starting to react(I did it for a long
time,
I know what it feels like) and I'm psyched.
Well, I haven't told anyone that I've started trying to lose weight,
but
last night my younger brother(a natural bodybuilder) told me that I'm
losing
weight and he can see the 'water loss' around my eyes and in my cheeks.
I
got the same rush that I used to get when people would see me after I
lost
the 108 pounds the first time. I'm not sure how much(if any) I've lost
and
I'm not going to weigh myself until after I get done with the first 2
weeks,
but it sure was nice.
I read the post from BigK about coming back and it hit home. Keep it
up,
man. You'll get there.
Thanks for letting me begin to clutter this group.

PS I've got some great recipes for you guys to try out.
