Default Does the Adkins Diet work?

My experiences with the Atkins diet.http://www.helium.com/tm/145238/alwa...re-chair-front

I'm not a physician, nutritionist, etc., etc., but these are my
thoughts about the Atkins approach:

It tends to limit snacking as so many snacks are bread or carbohydrate
related.
There is an initial water loss as the body gets rid of fat and protein
by increasing urine.
It helps one avoid large categories of foods by declaring them off-
limits.
It brings about ketosis and this helps reduce the appetitie
It helps maintain task-focus as one has a set of rules that may lead
to weight loss.

But...

In the long run, the only thing that matters is calories in versus
calories burned -- if Atkins allows you to control this, then it makes
sense.
There is some concern voiced by professionals about following a high
fat/high protein diet and not eating veggies, carbohydrates, etc.

In short, I dunno. Whatever works for you (and which you and your
medical provider agree is good) is terrific!

Yours,

Caleb
