Waist - How to Measure?
Not too long ago (about a week, I think) there was a report that
simple 'waist size' was the best predictor of diabites and other
weight-related illnesses.
It was found to be a better predictor than waist-to-hip ratio, and
even BMI.
I forget what the measurement was for men... 34 inches max I think.
But does anyone know *how* these waist measurements are taken (for
men)?
I've seen the following recommendations:
1) measure what is 'traditionally' considered your waist - ie. where
you wear your pants or belt
2) measure at the belly-button
3) measure at the narrowest point between the bottom of the rib-cage,
and the hips
These locations might all be one-and-the-same for Urkel... but are in
very different spots for most men.
I have no idea which is these is the correct way in context to the
report that came out.
Your help appreciated. Thx!
