Possibly do more exercise, but eat the calories to make up for it.
It may also be that 1200 is too few. Maybe 1500 should be the minimum.
Too few calories can persuade the body to go into hibernation. On the
diet I'm on, we are told that you should eat a fair amount, because all
the trace elements in foods can also have an effect on the metabolism.
Of course it depends how much you need to lose.
