Men: BMR = 66 + (6.23 x pounds) + (12.7 x inches) - (6.8 x age)
Add to this any calories burned from exercise and you'll have the magic
number of calories to maintain any given weight.
I've never seen that equation before!
Anyway, I tried it and entered my numbers and got 1680 calories - almost
exactly the same as the 1700 calories I set as my daily limit. Interesting!

I like it because it accounts for metabolic changes with age.
Here's the womens version for your tool bag.
Women: BMR = 655 + (4.35 x pounds) + (4.7 x inches) - (4.7 x age)
Remember that both the men's and women's formulas are for a body at
rest. Get out of bed and allowed calories start increasing.
