Diet suggestions please...
If you don't like what I write, then don't read it. Other than that, quit
being so lazy and use Google to at least get some background knowledge
before asking any more retarded questions.

Hi everyone,
This is kind of a last ditch effort to get my health and diet back on
track. I'm almost 30, my weight is 275, male, and my cholesterol is
around 180. One problem though is my blood pressure, which stays
around 120-140/80-90.
So now the diet debate. I've had good luck on the low-carb diet,
loosing 15 pounds already this year, but I'm wanting to make a true
change in my eating habits. Even though the meats, eggs, etc are nice
and I have a good tasty variety, I'm thinking it might be better to go
with a more traditional diet (fruits, veggies, etc).

Hi Alex,
Eating vegetables and low GI fruits is not only allowed on a low carb
diet
it's encouraged. If you weren't eating them then you might want to take
a
look at a few low carb books to see how to do low carb correctly.
Hi Everyone,
I am eating veggies, like green beans, leafy salad, olives, etc, but I've
been
saying away from fruits like apples, oranges, and the like. I'm wanting
to hit
the gym to build more muscle in hopes that the muscle will help burn fat
and
help me tone-up a bit. And for limiting carbs, I've eliminated anything
that's
made with white flower (white breads, pasta, pasteries, etc), sugary
foods, and
sweets. I've also been drinking diet sodas for about 3-4 months now (diet
DP
mainly).
Personal goals are to exercise more, drink more water, and I'd like to eat
more
veggies and fruits if possible. Like I said, I've been on the low carb
diet
(off and on anyway) since January, and I've already dropped abount 15
pounds.
My problem with the carbs diet is if I splurge for a weekend I easily gain
5 or
more pounds back. And yes this is another personal goal... no slurging
Thanks for the words of encouragement and ideas.. they do help. I do
however
wish folks like JC Der Koenig would keep their negative opinions to
themselves.
I'm here to get help and support, not to listen to folks like that. But
to
all else, thanks
Alex.
