Default A poll for successful losers - how many calories do you maintain with?

This is a poll (suggested by another person) aimed at successful weight
losers who have lost a LOT of weight (gone from obese to normal weight)

and
who have maintained that weight loss for a reasonable amount of time.

1. What plan did you follow?

I was inspired by Dr. Herman Taller's diet from 1961. I kept his
macronutrient ratios, substituted any fat for his saflower oil, rejected his
love for potatoes, and rejected his belief that calories would just take
care of themselves. I counted calories with careful measurement where
possible.

2. How many calories per day are you maintaining your weight on?

2.7 months at 1845 calories per day (no activity deductions, Doug)

3. What is your age, sex, height and before and after weights?

-in 2001 I was 320 pounds
I'm now 152.
5' 8" male, 49 years old

4. Any additional comments about what made you successful.

1. low carb high fat reduced appetite
2. Frequent tiny snack-like meals with no large regular meals made it
possible to be calorie restricted without being hungry.
3. Exercise made no apparent difference.
4. Occasional extreme low calorie days didn't stop weightloss progress.
IMHO: "Starvation Mode" is a harmful myth.
5. Constant tracking of food and weight in Fitday allowed me to manage my
diet even when crazy weight fluctuations might have broken my spirit of
determination.

I'll summarize the results for everybody!

Thanks!
