Default Maintaining diet help needed

I am now 72 years old, 6 foot tall, and since the middle of last April I
have reduced my weight from 275 to 188 pounds. I feel anything under 190
pounds would be a good 'maintaining weight, since my lowest weight during my
young adult life, while doing extremely hard work, was 185 pounds.
My blood pressure has also benefited since it went from 140/110
(previously spending $150 for 18 months of Lisinopril 'b/p pill') to the
present 100/60.
My current points total is 29. I started at 37. I seldom use more
than 15 points per day. For the first 4 months I had a 'crash diet'
attitude, and ate only when I could suffer it no more. And then I only ate
salads. Some days I ate nothing at all. After that I began a regular
single meal a day of 16 points.
My problem is that if I use my full points I gain weight.
I have no idea how to design and use a 'maintaining' regime, since I put on
weight so easily. My tutor recommended I eat out twice a week and diet
inbetween.
Anyone else reach this dilemna?
