Default points question

I looked at two brands of turkey bacon sitting next to each other at the
super market. One had considerably less calories, fat and sodium than the
other. So I bought it. (I like having protein in my diet since it seems to
satisfy me, and I lift weights...) So I calculated the points. One slice,
which is the serving size, is 0 points. If i calculate points for 2 slices
by doubling theh calories and fat, then it is 1 point.

So let's say I eat a slice for breakfast. And a slice at lunch. Do you add
up zero point items over the course of a day? I drink "free" soup that may
not be "free" if I drank it by the gallon jug. I may have a progresso or
home made soup if I am hungry but am unsure of where I stand point-wise or
am saving up for something I know is coming at dinner. (Dinner is my most
hectic time, so I plan that FIRST. Then I manage eating less than that
during the day.) How do zero points food work? If i have some as an am snack
and a later pm snack, should I be recalculating based on 2 servings rather
than 1? I hve not been.

Thanks!

S
