dangers of fast weight loss?

You will lose more than 1% of body weight per week initially because
of the reduction of glycogen reserves and the associated water weight
(there are 4 lb of water stored for every pound of glycogen).
I just finished week 6 and I am still loosing more than 1% per week
and feeling fine except for muscle cramps whe I don't take the right
vitamins. The more fat to loose the more weekly weight loss can be.
This is generally true of all diets. Atkin's ultra low carb regime is
simply more effective at targetting fat than low-calorie/low-fat diets
so at 330 lbs I can still lose 3 a week. A 50lb overweight man can
lose more than 16 lbs in the initial two weeks. That includes the
water weight, but later weeks don't.
