That's simply not true, any more than it is in face-to-face
conversation. ESPECIALLY in a newsgroup where nutrition advice is
being bandied about -- it's important to make it clear when you're
sharing what you believe to be facts vs. bald-faced opinion.

Now, Iggie's remark about "never eat junk food, period" is pretty
obviously opinion. But still ... some newbie could stumble across his
remark early in the game and think this was some sort of hard-and-fast
low-carb rule.
