It is unlikely that a "powerful antiplatlet" med such as the above

would be
used BEFORE a scheduled operative procedure,,since obviously the risk

of
bleeding would be high


They could have been used before the coronary angiogram in
anticipation of possible PTCA/Stent.


These meds are typically used AFTER angioplasty,,stents..


They are sometimes used during acute coronary syndrome (ACS) or
unstable angina in anticipation of possible PTCA/Stent.

CABG or MI to prevent
further clots...they cannot dissolve pre existing clots


That would not have been their purpose.


Perhaps he had a thrombolytic..such at TPA....which can dissolve
preformed clots...


TPA has not been shown to improve outcomes in the setting of either
unstable angina or NSTEMI.
