Default Day 46 -- still 23 pounds gone -- My doctor is pleased and my blood pressure is down

Day 46 and still 23 pounds gone
265/242/200

I got on my scales today and though the indicator was close to 241, it
did not sink below the line, so I am still at 242. Oh, well! In the
fullness of time good things will happen! Actually, they are
happening, down at the cellular level, not to mention the belt and
pants level.

I went in to see my physician today and she said I was doing great! My
1000 calorie diet is fine with her until the weight is gone. (She also
noted that at 1000 calories, it's tough to indulge in a lot of the
foods that were bad for me.) Also, my blood pressure was considerably
lower today than it has been and I'll have it checked again when I
reach 220 or so as the medication I take may then be unnecessary. She
also said that my other health problems are likely to improve. I made
another appointment to see her in mid-May and said that at that point,
she would see a big change in my appearance. (She was suggested the
possibility of helping motivate some of her other patients and I said
I thought that was terrific, that I'd be happy to volunteer some of my
time, etc. I told her that it was difficult sometimes taking advice on
weight from people who have never had a weight problem.)

It struck me again that if we had a large dog or a large horse that
was overweight, getting the animal to reduce would be dead easy. We'd
just reduce the calories. End of story. Maybe a little more activity,
but the main thing is the calories. And if major health problems were
present, we might cut the calories drastically. Somehow with
ourselves, we make it overly complicated and get involved with
wishing, wanting, emotions, etc. (But to indulge in emotions or to be
overly sensitive to hunger is to encourage both of those things, I
think.) I sure have felt very little hunger in the past 46 days, and
certainly a lot less than I felt before then when I was putting on the
weight or maintaining my high weight level.

My behavior remains shaped up pretty well now. It's kind of like
teaching youngsters to use crayons, and they learn that if they hold
them too far back, the crayon will break. So the children naturally
hold the crayon closer to the point. I'm kind of holding my diet on
point as well and am not being distracted by too many things around
me. Also, I can easily look at the numbers on my watchband and see the
46 over the 23 to remind myself that in 46 days, I've lost 23 pounds.
Not too shabby, and there are more pounds that are coming off in the
next hundred days.

I hope everyone finds a diet and exercise program that allows them to
be healthier and happier!

Yours truly,

Caleb
