I've never been to this group before - hi all! You guys look very
interesting and good for me

I'm going to a place called LA Weightloss tomorrow
http://www.laweightloss.com and talking to them about what they do. I've
been to weigh****chers and didn't stick with it. Has anyone been to this
place before? I wonder if there's been any successes (besides the ones

they
provide!).

I was reading down through the posts and saw mention of pizza and beer -

I
think I'll have some of each tonight before I crack down on it

Thanks for being here & sharing...

Well, Mary. I used to WORK there, if that counts.

LA Weightloss is much the same as any weighloss company. They tell
you what to do, show you how to do it and then it is up to YOU. If
you are motivated to lose, you will, and if you aren't - you won't.

Trouble is - if you are motivated to lose you don't need LA
Weightloss. You can get the same information from any library or
probably a zillion websites on line. There is no magic wand that they
wave that makes you lose weight. It is all up to your following their
diet and sticking to it. Their diet plans are based on calorie intake
(surprise!) just like most other sensible weightloss plans.

They also have "snacks" that they require you to eat which, surprise
again! they sell. Those snacks are nothing more than meal or snack
replacements and, again, have no magic effect on the diet. But it
makes them a pretty penny to require them as part of the diet and sell
them as a pretty price, if I recall.

They will give you the hard-sell (there was a lot of emphasis on SALES
there, as I recell). Really you are better off saving the cash and
doing your own research as to a low-cal diet plan (with exercise, of
course) that will work for you.

Thanks for the answer. That's the type of info I'm looking for. Not a
lecture. I'm not 12 - I've been at war with myself over weight since that
age. But a bit of support IS helpful. So thank you for an actual answer to
the actual question!

My sister made an appt for both of us there today. I had never heard of the
place before yesterday, that's why I asked about them.

She thought it might be helpful to have one-on-one with someone and to be
weighed every week with someone else watching over your shoulder.

We do already know about nutrition intake (we're professional dieters), but
because this offered the personal interest of another individual, we thought
it might give us that extra oomph (sp?) needed to stick with it!

Ah well. It's good to check into this stuff
