In article , Edelman says...

I have been religiously following the website for a month and trying to get
my questions answered by reading other people's discussions BUT I really
need specific suggestions for me because I am at a loss (or not losing which
is the problem) Here are the specifics:
5ft 3inch 46 year old female weighing 158 lbs and 140 is a comfortable
weight for me
I have been on Atkins for 4 weeks I have lost 1 lb!. The first 2 weeks I did
induction and since the weight loss was pretty nonexistent I started to add
one fruit a day because I felt it was unhealthy to not have fruit. For the
first 2 weeks I developed terrible breath along with my ketosis and through
your website it was suggested that I reduce the protein. so this is what I
have been eating for the last two weeks
Large Starbucks coffee with 1/4 cup whole milk and 2 equal
Breakfast - 2 oz of smoked salmon and 1/2 cucumber and l Tablespoon cream
cheese
Lunch - 3oz tuna/T mayonnaise or 2 to 3 oz cheese and 3 cups lettuce and
1 to 2 T olive oil/T vinegar
-Snack 1/2 cup cottage cheese/l fruit or 2 cup cooked vegetables/1 oz cheese
Dinner 4 to 5 oz chicken or fish/Tablespoon mayo and 3 cups salad with T
oil/T vinegar and 2 cups cooked vegetable
Late night snack - 1/2 cup cottage cheese or 1 oz cheese or 2 T peanut
butter and 1 fruit if I did not have it earlier
I exercise 3 to 4 times a week - each time I do 30 to 40 minutes of cardio
and 6 to 9 different weight training exercises
Also, my urine says I am not in ketosis anymore. I started out eating
probably twice the amount of protein and was not losing. I have increased
the fat as you see above to about 5 to 6 Tablespoons a day of
oil/mayo/peanut butter and this is not helping either.
I feel great and it is very easy for me to stay in control but I want to
lose weight. Why do you think the weight is not budging??
Any suggestions would be most appreciated
Ellyn

You might try giving up the Starbucks or at least switching to decaf. Caffeine
can be a problem for some people. Real cream would be better than milk too.

Cutting back on the cheese and fruit might also help. At least limit the fruit
to berries.

Also are you noticing any change in the way your clothes fit? Sometimes you
lose inches before the weight loss starts to register.
