I went to a Trader Joe's for the first time last night - very cool store.
Lots of low carb stuff, and organic stuff, and generally healthy looking
stuff. I bought some low carb pasta, but haven't tried it yet. The
nutrition profile, compared to regular pasta, is phenomenal. High

protein
and fiber, low carb and calorie.

I also bought some kashi good friends cereal. I tried it right out of

the
box on the way home, and it's very tasty. Also high in fiber (8g) and
protein (9g), but high in carbs too (22g). This stuff is so crunchy

though,
it's like chewing on gravel. It cut my gums like captain crunch used to
when I was a kid! 190 cal in a cup of cereal, plus 1c of nonfat milk,

under
300 cal for breakfast. I need the fiber though, as lately I've been

getting
like less than 10g per day...

Kashi also makes meal replacement powder, which has 22g of protein and 8g

of
fiber. I'm going to try and get my fiber intake up to the suggested min

of
25g per day. I'm sure my colon will thank me...

Kashi is ok, but I prefer Fiber One because it offers fewer calories
and fewer carbs (sugar) but 14g fiber. ANd believe me, 1/4 cup of F1
in some yogurt is very tastey and more than enough fiber for me when
you add in the other fiber foods I eat in the day.

I have Fiber One also... And I do like to mix it into yogurt. I've just
been eating the same stuff over and over I got sick of it, so I'm adding in
some new things. I ate fiber one w/yogurt for about 2 months straight and
then couldn't take another bite. So, I'm looking at alternating days of
multigrain hot cereal mixed w/protein, fiber one w/yogurt, the kashi, and
looking for other high fiber foods. I really have been neglecting my
veggies... When the growing season ends here, all our "fresh" vegetables
are shipped from halfway around the world, and taste like wax...
