It's not a hypothetical example even if the details are made up. Dr
Atkins reported a fair number of his patients did exactly that for the
same reason. Who among us has not faced endless opposition to eating
low carb? The pressure to go off low carbing never ends.


You know how married couples tend to only have other married couples
for friends? And how singles tend to only have other singles for
friends? I tend to only have other low-carbers, runners, cyclists,
athletes, health and fitness people, etc., as friends. I don't have to
keep explaining all this stuff to them; they already know. And they
tend not to have CRAP FOOD laying around, as a temptation. Then,
"social pressure" works for me, not against me.
