Default Can Atkins/Low Carb cause neck pains?

"Someplace_Else" wrote in message ...
I had a lot of joint pain my first time around, including neck and back
pain. Looking back now I think it had a lot to do with the fact that I
always forgot to take vitamins, and didn't integrate much fresh produce into
my diet. I was very active at work, but didn't do any real exercise.

While I didn't have the head ache you mentioned, I thought it sounded
similar.

I am not sure of the answer of your question, but will tell you I have had
some neck into back discomfort as well. I attributed it to loss of muscle
in that area, because I was running and not lifting. I started lifting

and
working on that area and it seemed to have helped. I also play lots of
volleyball and used to play tennis for many years, which is lots of

overhead
motions. I figured this attributed to the discomfort.

Not sure if you situation could be similar, but thought I would mention my
experience.

Hi all,

Recently I have been having bad neck pains and low lying
headaches. The best way to describe them is its as if there was a
chord stretched from the lower part of my skull down to my upper back,
and it hurts along the whole line. There is also a headache
associated with the bottom part of the back of my head. I noticed
these began last summer, coincidentally around the same time I tried
atkins for the first time. They lasted throughout all of the fall and
left me around december, also around the time I stopped the atkins
lifestyle. At the time I never associated the two. Now though, I
started atkins for about a week and I am quickly remembering the pain
that I had last fall. I am wondering if anyone has any idea if the
two could be related, or is it just some strange coincidence? Is it
possible that there is a certain supplement that I am lacking, or
something I'm ingesting that could be causing this kind of problem?
Has anyone read anything like this before, or know where I could find
information on this?

Thank you in advance,

James

Thanks for the reply,

The truth is (believe it or not) I actually consume alot more
produce and vitamins on the atkins diet. My normal lifestyle consists
of hamburgers, french fries, pizza, etc, etc. In addition I always
take a multi-vitamin on atkins. Thats why I was wondering if possibly
my problem was not caused by atkins, but possibly some other
nutritient that my body is allergic or unucustommed to (but I know
relatively nothing about such things, so I could be totally off).

Thanks again for the reply,

James
