Just by eliminating bread and milk from your diet, you can take your carbs down quite a bit.

Focus on junk carbs. Don't be afraid to eat a fruit a day like a banana. I have strawberries and blueberries mixed with protein and vitamins and fish oil every day for my "breakfast".

Hi All,

Has anyone kept their daily carb intake below 50 grams? I just started

going low-carb (3 months ago) and I'm diabetic. Late last February, my

doctor took me off insulin and 1 other medz.

Right now, I'm more focused on the health benefits of low-carb rather

than losing weight. It will come as one of the benefits of staying

healthy.

I've totally (well... almost) given up on rice, pasta, bread, potatoes,

etc. This all started when I visited the health page of this website:

http://www.grc.com/health/lowcarb.htm.

It includes a podcast, book recommendations. I'm still reading books

about this but I jumped right into it and reaped the benefits in no

time.

I'm looking forward to the day when I say "bye-bye" to my diabetes medz.

I've gone many months below 50g. Anyone doing Atkins would be at
that level for at least two months. Good to hear it's working for you.
