Default Week 25 report - a small weight loss - and some new numbers toplay with

this is too much math for me

On a week to week, Friday morning to Friday morning basis I managed to eke
out a small weight loss this week - 0.4 kg = 0.9 lb. My total weight loss
after 25 weeks is 21.6 kg = 47.5 lb.

I've also had at least SOME weight loss every week for the past

consecutive
9 weeks. Also, out of 25 total weeks I've done pretty good each week:

22 weeks - weight loss
1 week - no change (in August)
2 weeks - slight weight gain (in September)

Rather than the usual stats this week I thought I would introduce a new

one
- a measure of my metabolic rate in Calories Per Pound (CPP) that my body
appears to need to maintain its current weight.

I am calculating it as follows, and would be curious what other peoples'
CPPs are, if you have enough data to calculate it.

What you need are (1) your weight W in pounds, (2) the number of calories
you averaged per day over the last week C, and (3) your weight change over
the past week L (for Loss). Assuming 3500 calories represents 1 lb of

weight
loss, your CPP would be:

CPP = (L * 3500) / 7 + C) / W

This is my own equation, so remember - you heard it hear first!

It's interesting to check week-by-week how your CPP and C values might be
related. This could tell you, for example, if there really is a

"starvation
mode" for you and where it kicks in.

For the last 7 weeks, re-ordered by C values, my C (calories per day) and
CPP (calories per pound) values we

1309 8.5
1411 12.6
1498 11.4
1514 12.2
1573 7.7
1600 10.4
1631 9.1

This is an average of 10.4, which is pretty much what I thought.

It's hard to really say what these numbers mean for sure - after all it is
just 7 data points - but assuming that calories tell the whole picture

(and
there are probably other factors at work too) it seems my best CPP weeks

are
clustered in the range of eating 1411 to 1514 calories per day on average
and that below that maybe some sort of starvation mode starts in and above
that some reverse thing happens? I don't know, but I'll continue to

collect
data and see. Or maybe go back over more weeks and calculate the data from
my old notebooks to get more stats. It might be that the only relevant
number is the average. My guess would be that that is all that matters.
