[snip interesting article about a stupid diet]

Good post - it's nice to see people who take the time to calculate these
things out and let others know.

While I haven't done any research on this (I'm perpetually slender and
couldn't gain a pound if you painted me with lard) - I've several friends
who have lost a significant amount of weight simply by cutting out the
carbohydrates from their diet after 2:00 PM. Kinda makes sense, to me,
anyway: You get your carbs (sugars, essentially, or energy) in the morning
and at noon to fuel you for the rest of the day, with the latter part of
the day being your vitamins and proteins for other tissue
development/repair/maintenance.

I believe it all comes down to the basic: Burn more energy than you take in
and you *will* lose weight - it's the laws of physics - the energy you use
even for breathing and blood circulation has to come from *somewhere* -
TANSTAAFL , so to speak (if you'll pardon the pun
